Jack Lim Boon Chye

Group Chairman

Jack Lim, founder of GPES Group, have broad experience in port engineering field. He started his career as a technical trainee PSA, specializing on crane troubleshooting. Jack has developed professional skills over 12 years of travelling internationally to over 40 countries  involving in various modification and relocation works To date, over 100 crane modification completed and relocate over 200 cranes experience gained.  He then took over the role of Country Manager and developed and expand businesses in Malaysia and The Philippines from 2009- 2013,  overseeing an addition of over 100 projects during these period before leaving to emerge as a founder of GPES.

Kelvin Koo Tiam Hock

1994 Joining Port of Singapore Authority as technical trainee in both mechanical and electrical field. Graduated from PSA as Technician specializing crane maintenance, he joined Portek in 2000 as Service Engineer and subsequently seconded to Indonesia handling all the port equipment maintenance, modification, refurbishment projects in major container terminal in Jawa island in 2001. Koo then served as the President Director of PT. Portek Indonesia from 2010 to 2013 before leaving to co-found GPES in 2014.

Kok Choong Hwa

Group Commercial Director

With an extensive career in port engineering since 1989, Kok Choong Hwa has participated in the formative years of Portek Engineering. He later joined Bromma Conquip AB to lead the successful transformation of its Asian operations from mainly agency-based networks to present day HQ in Singapore, Regional Office in Shanghai and Global Manufacturing Base in Malaysia.

With a marine engineering background, he still continues to engage in special and innovation projects in ports and terminals.

A graduate from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia – BEng (Mechanical Engineering) and MSc (Structural Engineering) processes a fusion knowledge in mechanical and civil engineering which enable GPES to perform more accurate defect and failure analysis on cranes. He possessed 10 years site experience in managing various crane projects including relocation, servicing, modification, fabrication and structure analysis (FEA). He is now responsible to lead GPES technical competency to the highest level through implementation of the UK Standard for Professional Engineering Competency as core of GPES engineering.

A graduate from University of Newcastle – BEng (Electrical Engineering) started his career as trainee in PSA specializing on maintenance and troubleshooting electrical systems for 9 years leaving as a specialist. From there, he had moved on to Portek where he was tasked with retrofit and refurbishment projects as commissioning engineer handling multitude of projects till he left as a General Manager which covered duties as the Project Controller and Head of Procurement, Logistics and Warehousing after 16 years to join the GPES group in Singapore.

Shukur bin Othman

Graduated from Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) – BEng Electrical Engineering (Automation System and Robotic) in 2008. Begun career as a PLC Programmer in multinational automation company based in Malaysia in 2008 for 5 years. Expanded career in port engineering business by joining Portek Malaysia as Electrical Engineer in 2013. Took a huge move in 2015 by joining GPES group as Electrical Engineer. Throughout 7 years experiences in port industries, managed various crane project including relocation, servicing, troubleshooting, maintenance, retrofitting and modification. With strong foundation of technical and management experiences in electrical automation and port engineering, currently has been appointed to manage and lead Puerto Primera Incorporated (PPI) operational in the Philippines.

Junz Tian Lib Ming

A very successful site manager who possesses 20 years of experience in managing various local and overseas projects; not limited to crane relocation, accident recovery, crane modernisation, crane structure repair and strengthening etc. He transforms the engineers’ design to detail site work arrangement to assure the on-time delivery with cost-effective, safe while fulfilling the requirement of design. He is now focusing on developing the skill person training and innovation of engineering method with the latest technology to ensure continuous improvement of GPES project quality.

Seah Kok Chem

General Manager

Global Port Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd

Seah joined Global Port Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd as General Manager on 1 January 2020. Before joining Global Port Engineering & Services Sdn Bhd, Seah held management position in various organisations with a demonstrated history of working in the machinery industry. Seah holds a Master’s Degree majoring in Mechanical Engineering from University of Bradford and has over 10 years of experience in project management.
